The short version

This policy explains what KYE Ventures ("we", "us") collects through kyeventures.com and what we do with it. The site collects very little: what you choose to type into a contact form, and analytics about which pages are visited, which you can turn off at any time.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not run session recording on this site.

What the contact forms collect

When you send a message through the form on the contact page, we receive:

  • your name
  • your email address, so we can reply
  • your company, if you give one
  • your message
  • how you heard about us, if you choose an answer

The form on the founders page asks for your name, email address, company if you give one, and message, and, optionally, your website, what you are raising and when, and who builds your product today. It does not ask how you heard about us.

The message is sent as an email to Nathan Biles through Postmark, an email delivery service. It is not added to a mailing list or a sales database, and we use it only to read and answer your message. To limit spam, the site uses the IP address a message comes from briefly, in server memory only, to cap repeat submissions (about ten minutes). The IP address is not included in the email or stored with your message.

Analytics, and how to opt out

The site uses two analytics services to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from:

  • Google Analytics 4 records which pages are viewed and basic interactions with them, along with general information such as device and browser type, approximate location (city or region, from your IP address) and the site that sent you.
  • PostHog records page views only. Session recording, click tracking, heatmaps and surveys are turned off.

Both run by default. A short notice on your first visit says so and offers an Opt out button. You can opt out at any time with , here or in the footer of every page. When you opt out, the site stops both services, removes the analytics cookies it can reach, and does not load them again on that browser.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the site treats it as an opt-out and does not load either service. Do Not Track signals are not used.

We do not use analytics to identify you or for advertising, and neither service receives what you type into the contact forms.

Cookies

  • kye_consent remembers your choice (OK or Opt out) so the notice does not ask again. It lasts one year.
  • Google Analytics cookies (names starting with _ga) last up to two years. They are not set if you opt out or your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
  • PostHog cookies (names starting with ph_) last up to one year, with the same exceptions.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who else handles your information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. It passes only through the services that run the site:

  • Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested
  • Postmark, which delivers contact form messages by email
  • the email provider where those messages are received and answered
  • Google and PostHog, for analytics, unless you opt out

Each handles information under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and the people who use it.

How long we keep it

Contact messages stay in our email for as long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, and we delete them sooner if you ask. Postmark keeps a copy of sent messages for a limited period under its own retention settings. Analytics data is kept under the retention settings of Google Analytics and PostHog and is used only in aggregate. Cookie lifetimes are listed above.

Seeing or deleting your information

To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, send a message through the contact page and say what you would like done. Use the email address you want the request to cover, so we can find the right records. We will answer by email and act on the request within 45 days.

Notice for California residents

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you these rights:

  • to know what personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it and who we disclose it to
  • to get a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • to have it corrected or deleted
  • to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell it or share it for advertising, and Global Privacy Control is honored as an opt-out
  • to limit the use of sensitive personal information; we do not collect any
  • not to be treated differently for using any of these rights

In the last 12 months we have collected identifiers (name, email address, IP address), commercial or professional details you choose to share (company and what you are working on), and internet activity on this site (pages viewed), unless you opted out. They come from you and your browser, and we use them to answer messages, run and protect the site, and understand how it is used.

To opt out of analytics, use Cookie settings or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. To make any other request, use the contact page. You can also have someone you authorize make a request for you. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by replying to the email address in question, before acting on it.

Children

The site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top. Questions are welcome through the contact page.
